  • A 3rd Amendment Case in Las Vegas

    https://www.courthousenews.com/2013/07/03/59061.htm

This sounds bizarre and I can't help but think there's a quite a bit more to this story.

The police are trying to set up a sting operation involving domestic violence and then decide they need to occupy not one but two homes in the neighborhood from which they can conduct this operation. Both homes happen to belong to people from within the same family.

And finally, the police decide they need to bring about five officers in and forcibly enter the home next to the home where the domestic violence is supposedly taking place.

So, yeah, I can't help but think this is a finger in my Wendys chili type case.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Here is a relevant article on the Third Amendment and modern police activity. Some of the statistics blew me away.

And to think i thought conservatives favored strict interpretation of the Constitution.*

*Exempting the meaning of "soldier" in the third amendment and "militia" in the second.

I don't see this implicating the Third Amendment. Doesn't mean there isn't recourse, but not via this path.
