    2014 Election Thread

    Wasn't sure if one existed yet.

    A hypothetical poll had McConnell even in Kentucky. He just released this campaign ad.

          Bachmann has bowed out and will not seek reelection. Not terribly surprising especially considering an investigation of her campaign spending.

                I hope the end of the Obama Presidency will be good for the Republican Party. I hope Chris Christie wins the Republican Nomination. It would help to rid the Republican Party of its Obama hatred. I think Obama is a poor President but he is and will always be popular enough, individually, that the Republican hatred will be an albatross. Christie's friendly working with Obama over Sandy and his friendliness towards the man ought to help/force enough Republicans to bury this hatred.

                          I didn't say I wouldn't vote for them, just that I'd think twice about it. It's telling that they aren't really outraged over the incident. At least Obama seemed a little bit perturbed.

                            TEA Party activists aren't happy with John Cornyn.....the senator from Texas not named Ted Cruz. I guess they are all upset that Cornyn didn't back up Cruz when he did his dog and pony show a couple months ago around Obamacare. So how much do they not like Cornyn? Enough to start to throw their support behind a guy named Steve Stockman.

                            I wanted to see what this TEA Party candidate has to offer. Here's the Wikipedia synopsis of his life before he ran for political office:

                            Stockman was born in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan; outside Detroit. He graduated from Dondero High School in Royal Oak, Michigan. From 1985 to 1986, he attended San Jacinto College. In 1990, he earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Houston–Clear Lake.He was homeless for a time.[5]. He is a born-again Christian.

That's certainly a majority, but there obviously remains a large contingent of Republicans who do not agree with the tactics he employs in the Senate. Speaking for myself personally, and probably reflective of a good percentage of those who did not vote for him, I prefer the tactics of Sen. Ted Cruz. Sen. Cornyn's choice of tactics only lead to more debt and the funding of Obamacare, which are not good for Texas."
