Spoken like a true sociopath. No wonder you've taken such an interest in this story.Originally posted by Applejack View PostI think her anecdotes are rather dull. Manipulating a rival by kissing her boyfriend? (So 1980s). Discussing Rachmaninoff symphonies with Wall Street types? (Snoozefest). Fantasizing about killing a D.C. Metro employee? (Who hasn't?).

"Open up! Open up!" He knocked a hole in the door, and I could see that his hand was bloody and swollen. I wasn't concerned about his hand, and I wasn't glad that he was hurt either, because I knew that it gave him satisfaction to be stricken by such passion that he could disregard his own pain and suffering. He kept working at the jagged hole until it was big enough for him to stick his face through; he was smiling so widely that his teeth showed.
She's a successful law professor and a Sunday school teacher, with a host of family and friends. But her interpersonal calculus centers on how to manipulate and outmaneuver the many people in her life. Welcome to a world of ruthless cost-benefit analysis, charm, and grandiosity.

Of course many of her stories are fake. She already admitted that sociopaths routinely lie without regret."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

Diagnosed mental illnesses can keep people from being pilots (even just depression) and other jobs. Sociopath isn't a diagnoses it is jargon used to designate someone who has no remorse and sees people as objects. I'd be shocked if they can't dump her ass.Originally posted by Applejack View PostThis is a pretty crazy story. I'm surprised this hasn't been picked up by the local rags yet. It's got some great juicy bits.
1. It all begins with the pseudonymous publication of "Confessions of a Sociopath" by M.E. Thomas, a book that receives little initial buzz. In the book, the author gives out a host of identifiable biographical details, which by themselves likely could have outed the author, namely:
- LDS
- Law Professor
- Female
- BYU grad
- Worked at a prosecutor's office working in misdemeanors.
2. The book describes the author's sociopathy, how she committed petty crimes while at BYU, how she worries she might kill someone one day, how she sees people as objects to be used in achieving her goals. She also writes this pithy line of prose: Here's an excerpt from her book: http://www.psychologytoday.com/artic...ions-sociopath
3. Not content to simply write a pseudo-pseudonymous book, the author decides to go on Dr. Phil!!!! Best of all, she wears a "disguise" that consists of nothing but a blond wig. Here is M.E. Thomas disguised for the cameras:

4. After all of this, Abovethelaw.com--a gossip blog for law students--tracks down M.E. Thomas to St. Mary's Law School (it's in Texas). Professor Jamie Lund matches all the biographical details in the book and, as the cherry on top, she looks exactly like the person on Dr. Phil, minus the wig.

5. The day that Abovethelaw outs Professor Lund, she is no longer listed on the faculty page for St. Mary's Law. After some inquiry, St. Mary's says that Professor Lund has left St. Mary's for...
6. BYU LAW!
So, now it looks like Dean Rasband is trying to fire Professor Lund before he hires her. Query for you employment law experts: can you fire someone for being diagnosed as a sociopath, without anything more? (I presume that Lund's comments about the LDS church being the ideal place for sociopaths will be enough to get her fired from a church-owned school).
Pretty crazy story. BYU ends up looking pretty bad, but not as bad as Professor M.E. Thomas.

I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.
