    Pretty much since independence.

Somewhere we will find a Bernie Sanders style of government working.

He would say look at Scandinavia. I don't agree, but on an extremely superficial level you can understand why people buy those examples.

I might be wrong, but I don't think any of those countries has a population over 10 million. Venezuela is 3 times that size.

Also, I think the Scandinavian countries depend on their countries defense on other people so they have money freed up others don't.

Hence my mention of an extremely superficial look at the Scandinavian economies. Once you dig into details the complications of expanding such government services to a country as large and diverse as the United States become apparent, IMO. But you can't blame Bernie for trotting out the comparison, and I guess you can't blame those who want to believe it (until the demographic pyramids collapse in those countries or they go bankrupt, or both).

              Canada is about that size.

You guys are funny. Bernie isn't looking to replicate Hugo Chavez, nor could he.

Talking about me, I think. I am a funny guy. Not 100% positive, but I think that is the reference.

I find it funny when people point to hardcore socialism and act like Bernie is going to nationalize private industry and fuck around with our currency. Bernie is not a Chavista socialist and I doubt he could get much of his economic agenda passed due to extremist obstructionists in the GOP.

Canada spends .9 of their GDP vs the USA at 3.3% Who do you think benefits greatly from the USA being strong militarily. I am curious as a percentage basis what are the numbers of undocumenteds coming to the USA vs Canada. If Canada is great, I would think at least some would keep on moving on up to Canada.

I googled the Canadian tax rates. As I read it, 15% corporate and highest individual rate is 33%.

Maybe someone familiar with Canada can tell me if the progressive party up there is bashing energy production and claiming global warming is the greatest threat to the world.

It was hard for me to tell if college is free. I think it is left up to the individual provinces.

That said, I do think Canada would be a nice place to live if you could find a place where it is at least as warm as Utah.

Are you suggesting the only barrier to adoption of Sanders' economic proposals are "extremist obstructionists" republicans?

I never said he was going to nationalize private industry. How could he do that.

Free college education, universal health care, break up the banks without really knowing how he is going to do it. I have compared him to other socialist countries.

However, I could be accused of thinking down deep if he could, he would like to nationalize a lot of U.S. industries.

Don't blame me for calling him a flaiming socialist. I have never heard him aggressively deny it.
