Once you dig into details the complications of expanding such government services to a country as large and diverse as the United States become apparent, IMO. But you can't blame Bernie for trotting out the comparison, and I guess you can't blame those who want to believe it (until the demographic pyramids collapse in those countries or they go bankrupt, or both).

You guys are funny. Bernie isn't looking to replicate Hugo Chavez, nor could he.
I googled the Canadian tax rates. As I read it, 15% corporate and highest individual rate is 33%.
Maybe someone familiar with Canada can tell me if the progressive party up there is bashing energy production and claiming global warming is the greatest threat to the world.
It was hard for me to tell if college is free. I think it is left up to the individual provinces.
That said, I do think Canada would be a nice place to live if you could find a place where it is at least as warm as Utah.Last edited by byu71; 04-20-2016, 09:12 AM.

Free college education, universal health care, break up the banks without really knowing how he is going to do it. I have compared him to other socialist countries.
However, I could be accused of thinking down deep if he could, he would like to nationalize a lot of U.S. industries.
Don't blame me for calling him a flaiming socialist. I have never heard him aggressively deny it.
