  • Impeach Swallow

Republicans in Utah legislature are talking about impeaching Swallow:

I wish the scumbag would just resign already and save everyone some grief. I'm a pretty conservative guy, but I voted against Swallow. Wish he would have lost in the primary. Sean Reyes seemed like a stand up guy. Swallow always seemed scummy to me.

It would certainly be best if he'd do the right thing and resign, but it won't hurt my feelings if he gets impeached.

It is beyond time for him to step aside. There is no way he can function as AG now. It is also a hole he dug himself.

Wow. Good for them if they follow through. He is a sleazeball.

The first counselor in the bishopric when I was a kid was named Swallow. He interviewed me for baptism. I passed. Nice guy. He had the oddest comb-over I ever recall; long hair on one side of his totally bald middle which he combed over to the other side. I remember thinking that if he let his hair fall where it may, it would hang to his shoulder on that one side.

But he's not the guy you are talking about.
          Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Trib is reporting the Lieutenant Governor's office is going to recommend the special counsel file suit against Swallow and seek invalidation of his election for financial reporting violations:

Pretty significant coming from someone of the same party. Then again, I'm guessing most Republicans would like Swallow to go away.

And it looks like that might be the final nail in the Swallow coffin:

KSL is saying the he is resigning as of Dec 3 or something like that. Appearently that won't stop the investigation.

Jim Debakis, the DemState Chair, does not like the way his replaceement will be chosen. The state GOP will give the gov three canadates to choose from. He will be in office till the next general election (Next Nov)

                Debakis wants a special election.

I may be small, but I'm slow.

Here's an emeritus Swallow at my college: http://investing.businessweek.com/re...58&ticker=TLRN

Apparently, he has a son named, no shit, Will.

I'm surprised this thread has remained as dormant for a few weeks. Looks like the dirt is slowly being uncovered :http://m.sltrib.com/sltrib/mobile3/5...orney.html.csp
The Utah GOP needs a major overall. I like that Reyes is the AG and that Cox is Lt. Gov. There is a ways to go and after reading that article I can't help but wonder if Niederhauser, Oda and Ivory don't have different motivations for wanting the probe to stop. Two of those fellas don't have great reputations.
I think it's concerning that the head of the Utah GOP is a payday lender guy

It would appear that this whole Swallow affair related to the incompetence of the AG office's incompetence in the homosexual marriage appeal.
