  • Things I learned on CB tonight...

    1) The law says that women are dependent upon men, and maintaining that dependency is a critical function of marriage.

    2) There is no secular basis for prohibiting bestiality, murder, or sex with children.

No- I am not making this up.

Wow. We are in worse trouble than I thought.

I am amazed. Apparently the day crowd on CB thinks the guy has a point.

If this represents a barometer for where Mormons stand on this issue I am way outside of the pack's thinking.

Are you just now discovering that place is full of bigoted, homophobic cougar fans?
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

I'm pretty blown away at this.

I'm not sure where the feigned surprise is coming from, but of course this doesn't represent how 14 million Mormons as a whole think about things.

Not feigned surprise. I'm legitimately rattled by these posts and the support they are getting on CB.

And you are right- this obviously isn't representative of the church population as a whole. I suppose by "Mormon" I was thinking more about "Utah Mormon."

Indy- you are a smart guy. We disagree on all kinds of things but I respect you and usually think you add value to a conversation. Did you read the two posts I note above? Do you think there are as far outside the realm of the rational ad I do?

Sorry but I'm not interested in reading a 100 reply thread on a topic that is already rehashed ad nauseum.

There is a difference. A significant one.

Not the thread- just the posts linked above. But that's fine. I suppose I would likely remain in shock either way. I'm more just hoping there are others out there who are also shocked. You seemed like a good candidate.

I'm not shocked, Cali. I completely lost faith in others after the last election when we saw a significant majority of voters who actually believed Barack Obama would be a better president than Mitt Romney. Nothing anybody has said since has surprised me.

The election also marked the culmination of decades of subpar math testing scores from our public school system.

Cali is learning stuff from CB.

                            LOL
                            Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

I think "learning" is the wrong word. Unless you say I am "learning about CB." Either way, I'm abhorred. I haven't spent much time there in several years. Either I have moved quite a bit to the left in that time or CB has moved heavily to the right. Or both.
