    Mine collapse in Emery County

Rhino Mine, about 20 miles west of Huntington, collapsed this afternoon. One miner was killed and another injured in the damage. I could be wrong, but I think this mine is the old co-op mine that was run by the polygamists.

This is always tough to see, but especially difficult for those of us who grew up in mining country. We all knew someone whose dad died in a mine or remember the Wilberg disaster. It's a dangerous line of work and those who do it are tough as it gets. Keep them in your prayers.

I hate hearing this. Good bless that man's family. I am thankful every day that my dad now works on the surface.

How awful! I always hate hearing stories like that. My uncle died in a mining accident (he was crushed). It wasn't the Wilberg disaster, but it was in a Carbon County mine. My grandma was never the same after that.

Just awful. Like JIC, I'm grateful that my uncle was able to move to the surface about 10 years ago. Thoughts and prayers for the family.

Rough news for the family of the miner and the community. Thoughts and prayers for all those involved.
          Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."
