This story is the stuff of parents' nightmares. The boy was abducted at random off a school bus (the driver was murdered by the gunman) and then taken into some "doomsday prepper's" underground bunker. They're not sure what his demands are.

Given what he's done to this point, his demands are probably irrelevant.
The school called my wife a few weeks ago and informed my wife that our 2nd grade daughter was absent, but our kindergartner was present. My wife watched my kids get on the bus that morning. She asked the secretary to personally check the classroom and ensure there simply was not an error with the attendance roll. She mentioned that she would wait on the line. She was able to keep her composure until the secretary returned and reported that there was indeed an error (due to a recent relocation of assigned seats) and that our daughter was indeed safe. My wife thanked the secretary, ended the call and then lost it. Very scary.
My heart goes out to the parents and pray that the boy is returned to them safely.

Still no change. I agonize for the kid's parents, and for the child himself should he ever make it out alive.

Apparently the kidnapper is dead and the boy is ok. There will be a press conference shortly.

Sounds like they FBI decided to raid the bunker, and probably killed the man (as opposed to him committing suicide as they came in). What I don't get is why they waited a whole week to do this. Not the killing part, but the raiding part. If I were the kid's family, I'd be pissed that they spent 7 days talking to the guy.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Unless their raid resulted in the kids death. In which, you would be pissed that they didn't talk to the man for a few more days.
