Texans are apparently not very bright. This would somewhat explain the relatively low cost of living, I suppose.

Dallas has wonderful football weather in the fall and it doesn't get too cold in the winters. Summers can be a little on the hot side but that is when you want to load the kids up in the car and head North for vacation anyway."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.

I heard a radio ad the other day from Gov. Rick Perry encouraging business owners to relocate to Texas because it's more business friendly.Dio perdona tante cose per un’opera di misericordia

Based on those weather.com links, Houston looks great temperature wise, but yeah, humidity can be a killer.
Pros for Texas: Cost of living is low, salaries are good, no income tax and no 30 below zero january.
Cons: Farther from family (big for my wife), no mountains, higher property tax, too much country music

As for higher property taxes you have to remember that home tax values (or prices) are typically a lot less per square foot. And most all of that country music is down in Austin. Dallas likes to rock (and jazz).
Mountains? We don't need no stink'n mountains. We make maintains...
