You all had a cali in your class, you know, the one who saw his 89th percentile score on his placement tests, knew from his advanced math class that he scored a standard deviation above the median, so he figured he was the smartest kid in school. Then, because he thought he was brilliant, he argued with everyone, and when people got tired of him and walked away he thought that meant he won the argument.
Cali doesn't discuss things, he argues them - not for the purpose of discussion and interaction, or (heaven forbid) obtaining new knowledge and perspective, but for the purpose of winning the argument. Nothing anyone says will change his mind, because it's made up before he starts a discussion. He'll do anything to win, which in his mind occurs when you finally get tired of him and stop interacting, and he is a master at using hyperbole, and circular or just plain poorly constructed logic.
Unfortunately for cali, this site is comprised of brilliant people. He's not the brightest in the class here, or even among the brightest, and it amazes me that anyone engages him. In the immortal words of Newhart "Stop it!"

Yeah, I just tried something like that. I got called "sanctimonious".Originally posted by cowboy View PostI thought perhaps you'd like to know how people feel when they read your responses to them. Lebowski once lovingly informed me that I often come across as condescending, and we made a deal that he'd tell me when I'm being condescending and I'd tell him when he was being a prick, so I guess technically I haven't been condescending toward you until we get an official ruling from the Dude.If we disagree on something, it's because you're wrong.

I just went back and read a little bit. I stand by my previous comment. I'm not even sure what "sanctimonious" means, so you guys are going to have to use smaller words for me if you want to go all ad hominem on me.
And yeah, you guys started going Cougarboard on Cali around page 12.If we disagree on something, it's because you're wrong.
