These White House threats are starting to get more legs. Now a former close advisor to Bill Clinton was also threatened by the Mob'like behavior of this Admin.

As long as the general press keep covering their butt's, this won't be a big deal. It is a big story and shouldn't be allowed to just be glossed over, but I don't know if this is the story that the press finally says we can't keep covering for him.
They finally have a guy who is charasmatic (sp), charming, highly intelligent which is how they see themselves. They had one in Clinton, but he eventually let them down.

A little perspective on just how big this sequester is...
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., put the sequester in perspective this morning, noting that the law will lower federal spending to the same degree that the payroll tax hike lowered the size of each American’s paycheck in the fiscal cliff deal.
“It’s absurd to think that the government cannot get by with a little more than a 2 percent reduction in spending when every working American had to figure out how to make due with 2 percent less in their paychecks last month,” McConnell said on the Senate floor this morning.
Sequestration cuts the federal budget by 2.4 percent over the next decade, while the payroll tax increased by two percent earlier this year when President Obama and lawmakers opted not to extend the payroll tax holiday that had been in place.
“Normal folks must adjust their budgets,” McConnell quoted one constituent as saying, “so must the government.”

There are two parts to the sequester story:
1. Who thought up the idea of the sequester in the first place. This is what the Woodward story was about and apparently that is what pissed off the White House.
2. Obama cutting necessary things in order to pin the blame on the mean ol' nasty Republicans. Woodward also opined on this earlier this week.
The second part of the story is more important than the first part of the story. If I understand the first part correctly, Obama thought up the sequester in the first place but is now saying it was the Republicans' idea and the understanding the whole time was that we could avoid the sequester with a combination of cuts and revenues. I wonder how much people really care about this.
The second part is more important because if it's true, then it shows an administration willing to inflict the pain on the public in order to score more political points against the republicans. IMO, Woodward's saying this was "madness" and how he'd never seen any administration behave like this was far more damaging.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

lol. Obama and the gang are having breakfast tomorrow to discuss sequestration on the day it's supposed to go into effect. So pathetic.

What drives me nuts about McConnell's statement is that we're not cutting actual spending! The government will spend more in 2013 than they did in 2012, it's just we won't be spending as much as we thought we would.Originally posted by Uncle Ted View Post

Poor Maxine Waters. With every job in the country being eliminated because of Obama, how will she and her husband benefit from her political pull in order to funnel financial aid to any bank in which they own stock?Originally posted by Uncle Ted View PostGood Hell... 170 million jobs could be lost due to this sequestration!!!

Yep. Only politicians would ever claim with a straight face that not spending as much as they wanted to spend this year, but still spending more than last year, is a cut.Originally posted by venkman View PostWhat drives me nuts about McConnell's statement is that we're not cutting actual spending!
