Ding dong! Twinkies are gone! Unions Strike Again!

What can you do to help your company that's already filed for Chapter 11? Go on strike, that's what.

    Ding dong! Twinkies are gone!

"The Board of Directors authorized the wind down of Hostess Brands to preserve and maximize the value of the estate after one of the company's largest unions, the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International Union (BCTGM), initiated a nationwide strike that crippled the company's ability to produce and deliver products at multiple facilities," Hostess said in the statement.
    Hooray for unions!!
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

I took the extra 30 seconds to think up a decent title. I'm for quality over quantity, which is why I'm not sad Hostess is going bye bye.

Hey everyone, don't post in this thread. It has a lame title. Post your Hostess/union thoughts here instead:

I think the double meaning of "strike" makes it a perfectly good thread title.

Its too easy to blame the unions for this, Il Pad. A real Obama hater would blame Michelle and her nanny state food police. Step up your game, bro.

Don't worry, Twinkies and Ding Dongs will live on. Someone will buy the brand names and whatever recipes are used to make them indigestible when they're liquidating everything.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

No, the unions are to blame for this.

Michelle Obama is a hypocritical nutrition tyrant, but she's not to blame for the union not doing their job. Now, if Hostess went out of business because it was against the law to buy their products, then I would blame her. But there is no product to purchase because the union won't do its job and make the product. Therefore, this is the fault of the union.

It's interesting that the union strikes to the point that the company goes completely out of business, which leaves the union workers without a job in the end. Not sure if it is ironic, but it's pretty close.

It's almost like when the UAW strikes and demands higher wages/benefits, whcih then cripples the car companies to the point that they can't compete. Thankfully though Obama loves the UAW and car companies so he gives them billions of dollars. I'm pretty sure Barack would be sleeping on the couch for a long while if he bailed out the Hostess unions. Michelle would never stand for that!
