I think this is both dangerous and absurd. First, can anyone find an administration in history that was 100% forthright with the public (take your time, I'll wait....)? So, even if we subscribe to the Trump School of Nuance, and assume that Obama/Clinton cabal is the most, THE MOST!, corrupt administration in history, what do we do? Burn it all down? I actually have a lot of faith in the following principles: (i) there will always be lying, obfuscating, and self-dealing in government, and (ii) like juries, despite a boatload of mistakes, in the political dialectic the Americans usually get it right over time.

And btw, the more I listen to Gary Johnson, the more I marvel that anyone can take him seriously as a candidate for anything, much less the office of President. I wonder if he's been hitting the pipe a bit more than he should.

He was better four years ago, but this time he'll get more votes. He can't win obviously, but I will vote for him anyway because the libertarians need to have more influence since our government is being pushed by both parties to become more and more large and intrusive. The country needs to be pushed back in the libertarian direction. Importantly, I want the LP to hit certain vote percentage thresholds to make it easier to get on ballots, where some states have extremely draconian and unfair ballot access laws designed to maintain the two party monopoly. So every vote for them counts. And maybe Bill Weld will head the ticket next time. I like him.

I agree with many points you make but not the final conclusion that voters get it right over time. At this point in time, voters are extremely ill-informed and the politicos have done a marvelous game of obfuscation. Naturally, the level of sophistication in the prevarication evolves and depends upon which official is speaking. I do not believe we can quantify "most corrupt", as my belief is that a politico is inherently corrupt and dishonest. In fact, for the most part you cannot be successful without corruption. manipulation and dishonesty.

In the world of politics, I ascribe to the belief of Henry Miller who wrote, "Promises are made to be broken and lies are meant to be kept. If you examine the above phrase you will find out that 9 out of 10 times it is true. Hence the saying broken promises." It was actually much longer than that.

I can't take any of the candidates seriously. Gary Johnson has been a disappointment, but alas Evan is not running in Nevada, so Gary is my only choice. The eventual president will hopefully be a one term lame duck. That is my fervent hope. I loathe everything about her.

It is a much safer proposition to believe whatever the, meaning any, administration says is either an outright lie, contains an element of key omissions, or is intended to misdirect or deceive. If all voters assumed this as a primary principle of politics, we would be on a much sounder foundation. I really have difficulty with a voting public that has faith and trust in its elected officials. That makes no sense to me. Cynicism is far better.

"Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

Uh, it is five times more votes than last time if he gets 5%.

They might get that message, or they might decide that Utah just LOVES to vote for conservative Mormon candidates.

I don't have that option. So Johnson it is.I would prefer Weld be at the top of the ticket.
