Exactly, amigo. In reality, neither of us can prevent the bowel evacuation that will happen once either of the evil twins ascends to Mount Zion. But, those who did not compromise their integrity, can firmly state, "not my problem, you people fucked it up." If Hillary receives her crown, I hope Creekster's analogy holds, but I fear that the liberal leaning, collectivist part will overlook the warts of their candidate and brush her shenanigans off as insignificant. The left has no sense of self-awareness or willingness to admit its own faults, because the reality is, only power matters in politics. Hillary is the personification that power is the ultimate objective of politics and that the ends justify the means. All of those voting for her are voting for this principle. Those voters can never complain about any means ever used again and in fact have no room to complain about Trump. Only those who stayed clean by not agreeing to the end justifies the means have a moral right to complain.Originally posted by YOhio View PostI am doing what little I can do to prevent both a Trump and Clinton presidency. A bajillion times? Nah. I'll feel depressed pulling the lever for Hillary, and it may last for a time. But part of that depression is also caused by the absolute joke of a party that could do nothing to stop a despicable person from becoming an even more despicable presidential candidate. My hope will be that by supporting Hillary temporarily, the GOP will transform itself into a legitimate party. It has a very long way to go. And considering the sorry state of the democratic party, that really is saying something.Originally posted by YOhio View PostWhich is still a bajillion times better than actively supporting a Clinton presidency."...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. If Mao Zedong and Pol Pot were your choices, but you had the chance of selecting third party candidate who couldn't win, what would you do, select Mao because you know him better and Pol appears just to be nasty?Originally posted by Northwestcoug View PostA bajillion times? At what point, would you cease participating in the madness and reject the refuse offered to you by the mainstream groups? This is the worst two candidates in the history of presidential elections. There were some doozies, but in terms of corruption, nastiness, unreliability, and potential for harm, each carries a special ability to put self interest ahead of any other interest. Those who view Hillary as viable have apparently ignored what she is.Last edited by Topper; 07-07-2016, 04:50 PM."Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."

But I'll play along. If I had two murderous dictators for choices, I suppose I'd pick the one who at least governs with a pretense for rule of law, and tries to maintain a respectable reputation for other countries.
However, let's get serious with our analogies. I do not think it's a stretch to say that given how Trump has campaigned this last year, he would have a lot of Putin-like tendencies if given the chance. Hillary? I'd say she'd govern more like Bill Clinton. I'll take a presidency that has ethical failings but governs respectfully over a reactionary populist one, thank you very much."...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. In other words, you would vote for a murderous despot and would not check out of the process?Originally posted by Northwestcoug View PostYou do have a knack for impressive hyperbole, I'll give you that.

You have no evidence that Hillary would conduct herself respectfully, nor that she would behave as Bill Clinton did. Their personalities are polar opposites. Bill is gregarious and the life of the party, whereas Hillary is cold, distant except when motivated to quick rage and temper tantrums. Anybody expect Bill Version 2 will be sorely disappointed. She is arrogant, condescending, imperious, set on revenge and desires power above all else.
I don't know what to make of Trump, except that those who worked for him have desperate reports of his management style. I do not approve how speaks but that does not indicate how he would govern. I believe his true political leanings mirror Hillary Clinton, which is why I don't trust him either. He doesn't know government so he would likely be very inefficient or get assassinated. That's why we need a good VP choice for him, because Trump might not serve his full term."Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."

No, we ignore Clinton's faults (despite them being much larger than Trump's) because Trump is Hitler! He is the worst person to have ever lived! And unlike every president before him, he's actually going to do the stuff he says while campaigning.Originally posted by YOhio View PostI am doing what little I can do to prevent both a Trump and Clinton presidency.
