Has he ever claimed he has STRONG religious conviction? I think only Cruz and Dr. Carson claim that.

If strong religious conviction is a requirement to be a Christian, then the democrats don't have any Christians running for President. Whoops I just did what the Pope did. I apologize for judging.

Gotta cut Cruz some slack. He wanted to make sure there were no porn stars in this ad, so he went the photo shop route.

Yeah - that left me scratching my head too. In all of the campaign stuff I've read or seen - I haven't seen Trump talk religion or even speak at a church yet. Maybe he has, but it certainly isn't highly publicized enough for anyone to get the impression he's posing as a religious man.

When you put it like this I agree. Church should be a place where politics and political views are not only expressed but pushed. I now look forward to the crazy HC guy speaking about the evils of non-Republican issues.

Cruz and Obama are doing shaking left hands. Clearly that's a super secret cult handshake.

The Pope agrees as he walks back his earlier comments.

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

                    • I can understand the pope's urge. Trump is a bozo and his outlandish behavior and claims cry out for some sort of reaction. I think the pope was just trying to make a clever point about Trump and his focus. But the pope did not count on the rabid Trump supporters' pushback nor the media's scrutiny of his statement.
                      PLesa excuse the tpyos.

Stock photo models are 73.4% more likely to have participated in porn productions than the general public.

As a side note, 68.2% of all statistics are made up on the spot.

You've got too wide of a confidence interval.

Encouraging? Huh? I am just curious why everyone is upset about the pope making a political statement now and then. I hate to disappoint you, but popes have always made statements on high-profile political issues. Not just this pope.

I may disagree with my church occasionally when it takes positions on political issues, but I don't have any problem with them taking positions when they feel inclined.

Here is a relevant essay from a Catholic blog regarding the pope being involved in politics:
