  • Barney Frank on Scalia

Barney Frank was on Bill Maher tonight. He said that the Obama nominees should be mirror images of the Bush nominees, young and progressive. He said, "One of the smart things the Bush people did was to appoint very young people. We will die, many of us, being haunted by Antonin Scalia's bigotry being practiced on the U.S. Supreme Court." It sounds like Obama will be appointing a young judge.

He also said Souter waited for the election to step down to make sure it wasn't going to be McCain. He wanted to step down eight years ago because he felt the Supreme Court gave the election to Bush. Once Obama was elected he felt like he didn't have to worry about who would be appointed in his place.

    Barney Frank is a dumbshit.

I don't know. He is hard to understand.

Not an entire state. Just the 4th district of Massachusetts.

Bill took them to task about their double standard. He asked Frank why it was a big deal when Cheney gave out the big contracts to his buddies at Halliburton, but they brought on Geithner to be Treasury Secretary. Frank replied with some bullshit that when you want to clean something up, you hire the biggest crook because he knows the tricks.

Ummm, that he's a conservative? According to the left, the two are synonymous.

That is awesome. I can't believe he actually said that. LOL.

I think Barney Frank gives politicians a worse name. I watched much of the hearings on the state of the US economy and Frank is a huge grandstander who doesn't want any culpability for the mess that he had a large hand in. He makes my skin crawl. I can't believe that there would be a section of the country that would be such idealogues as to keep such a shameless man in power.

That's one of the words that has lost its meaning because it is overused as an epithet, like "nazi" or "storm trooper" or "fascist." "Socialism" is also overused to describe any approach to economic policy left of Ronald Reagan.

I don't know why, but I get a kick out of Frank. He's like the crazy homeless guy at the park that tells stories that are obviously not true. The sad thing is, he thinks he is telling the truth.
