Yeah, I'm not surprised that this is your view.

We can always debate the results, but

Saddam Hussein (we didn't go after him in 1991, and Iraq was a mistake)
Mullah Mohammed Omar (at large and uncaptured)
Osama bin Laden (successful, years later and we're still in Afghanistan)
Muammar Gaddafi (our air strikes after the Berlin club bombing and the Lockerbie bomb were not successful in killing him)

I've thought this through.

I'm sensing a John Cleese/Kevin Kline tarmac fight here, but the truth is that the military has been misused and hamstrung by ridiculous rules of engagement ever since William H. Taft IV yielded the acting Sec. of Defense position to Dick Cheney. See my comments above.
