So because Breitbart reported it, it must be horseshit? Are you saying that there WASN'T an off the record briefing - aka a dissemination of talking points?

If Slate reported it, would you believe it?

          • Well VirginiaCoug. Carney mentioned it in his "On-the-Record" today. Of course he tries to categorize different. As "Deep Background"

UPDATE III: Politico now reports that the meeting has been characterized as "deep background." The existence of the meeting itself is considered "off-the-record." White House spokesman Josh Earnest said, "Deep background means that the info presented by the briefers can be used in reporting but the briefers can't be quoted." So expect a fair number of "White House sources" to appear in reportage for the next few days.
UPDATE IV: Jay Carney began his on-the-record press briefing by announcing that 14 news organizations were invited to the closed door briefing, but that it was not a substitute for the on-the-record briefing. He then announced that it was "erroneous" to describe the briefing as "off-the-record," and instead suggested it was "deep background."

Still is horseshit they did this and cloak it the way they did. I would like to know "who" were the 14 reporters that were invited and who was left out.. I am sure we will see once articles start popping up at CNN, MSNBC, HuffPo, etc..

The people have a right to know that they lied and ho high it went. All for covering their asses or so they didn't look bad in the press.. BullShit. They left Americans to die..

The sad state of the world is this - "real" news organizations are part of the progressive left and, in general, only report stories that further that agenda. "fake" news organizations (those not fully all up in Progressive Left) like Fox, drudge, breitbart, etc can't be trusted for anything that they say - because they're "fake." Even when what they say is 100% correct - it's still "fake"

Sorry CS libs, you've lost all ability to look at the facts your side is telling you and see bullshit, or even take what's said with the slightest degree of skepticism. You've got your heads so far up your collective asses, you can't smell shit when your elected officials leave a big steaming pile on your face. And that's just how the Obama Administration has been treating you for 5 years. So great that they can count on you...

Anyone who didn't see Benghazi talking points as a compendium of lies from the second they dropped needs to seriously recalibrate their bullshit-meter. This one made no sense. Ever...

Remember when he had his little attack dog defend him in the debate? And how he acted indignant toward Romney's question about Benghazi and accused him of politicizing the issue? I hate that piece of shit worse than anyone.

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

                          • I wonder if the press is finally thinking covering Obama's butt is getting to be too big a price to pay, i.e. their credibility.

I have to just smile when I hear some of them claiming they have been all over this story from the beginning and apologists like Juan Williams saying we haven't learned anything new really since day one.

This latest IRS deal could develop into something nasy. Even Chuck Todd said he is surprised the President or members of the democratic congress haven't come out and strongly condemned it. Maybe they can't because we will find out they were behind it.

Their first priority was making sure Obama got reelected so they didn't have Republican President in the White House. Since that has happened their second priority now comes more into focus -- actually doing their job. Obama is clueless and now there's a chance that he's corrupt (I'm not totally willing to go that far yet), but to most in the press that's still better than if Obama were defeated in his reelection.

Second terms seem to typically be very tough. Some are downright catastrophic -- like LBJ's, Nixon's and W's. And the rest are just kind of more difficult than their first terms (Reagan's and Clinton's -- yeah I know Clinton was impeached but let's be honest, that impeachment was a ridiculous political stunt by the GOP, people had high job approval ratings for Clinton when he left office).

Everything seems to be indicating that Obama is in for a very bad second term, I think potentially as bad as W's.

And then David Petraeus is lurking out there and he may have quite the axe to grind. I'm sure he has an assload of information.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”
