I wanted to know more about the allegations you're making here about Julian Castro, so I went to Google to find out about his history of sexually abusing women. First search: "julian castro accusations." None of the top 10 results mention him being accused of sexually abusing women. Second search: "julian castro rape." Again, nothing on the first page mentioning him raping women. Third search: "julian castro history of sexually abusing women." Yet again, no relevant results.
Google is really smart, IPU, but it knows nothing about Julian Castro's history of sexually abusing women. You've now made a very damning accusation that appears to have no evidence to back it up and no articles discussing it. Would you like retract your statement? Accusing someone of sexually abusing women is pretty damn strong.
I thought IPU was referring to Bill Clinton?
"Sure, I fought. I had to fight all my life just to survive. They were all against me. Tried every dirty trick to cut me down, but I beat the bastards and left them in the ditch."

You'll have to forgive Il Pad. He probably saw "Castro" and made a lot of interesting connections from there.
You're right and Tim knows it. He was just trying to be funny. I'll give him a B for effort.

Actually, I wasn't trying to be funny. President Clinton is giving the nominating address but he's not giving the keynote speech. He's also not billed as the keynote speaker. Julian Castro is the keynote speaker.
Julian Castro is giving the keynote at this year's Democratic National Convention.

Okay, I got it wrong about Clinton. But I'm very sure that you knew who I was talking about.

I'm actually not BSing you when I say that I didn't know that. I saw your words and immediately went, "What? Julian Castro has been accused of sexual abuse?"

Fair enough.

If you had to vote for either Akin or Mccaskill, for whom would you vote?
That's an easy answer. I would never vote for McCaskell. Do you really think that the choice has absolutely nothing to do with the economic policies?
If you actually followed politics, you'd know that the only reason that Akin won the Republican primary is because Democrats voted for him in that primary. In Missouri, there is not rule or law that states that one can only vote in the primary of the party in which one is registered.

Welcome back.
One of the grandest benefits of the enlightenment was the realization that our moral sense must be based on the welfare of living individuals, not on their immortal souls. Honest and passionate folks can strongly disagree regarding spiritual matters, so it's imperative that we not allow such considerations to infringe on the real happiness of real people.

Todd Akin's some 65 year old guy. How many terms could he serve in the Senate -- 2?
He's putting his own ambitions in front of the interests of his party and his country (depending on your political persuasion) by staying in the race. The party and all the GOP Super PACs have abandoned him and he still won't get out.
Even if he were to somehow win, he'll be blacklisted by both the GOP and the Democrats.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

That is absolutely not true. In polls of Republican registered voters, Akin was the candidate going into the primary with all the momentum. He started down about 16 points and kept climbing, getting to within 5 points a week before the election and moving forward from there. Republican voters gave him the win (by over 6 points). It wasn't even close by the end. Democrats helped Akin by airing ads on his behalf. You guys voted for him- and not for the first time. He's been elected over and over as a member of Congress in Missouri (without Democratic votes).

McCaskill (sp?) spent $1.5 million on ads pushing Republican primary voters to Aikin.
