  • "You, Harry Reid, are terrible" - discuss America's least principled political leader

Yes, yes - I'm sure there are a few Reid defenders who try to pretend that someone else is less principled. But our co-religionist (apparently a 100% home teacher!) is a sleaze and embarrassment to his office.

This is some truly, even distinctively, low bullshit he's pulled in recent days. Thanks to Politifact's rating ("pants on fire") and WashPo's ("four Pinocchios") and Jon Stewart's demolition, we're seeing that it's hardly a partisan reaction to see Reid's attack as the lowest variety of political gamesmanship.

But perfectly consistent with a guy who has no qualms about enriching himself and his donors on the backs of the American public.

The LA Times expose on his sketchy land deals is summarized here:

    http://www.captainsquartersblog.com/...ves/008266.php

As WashPo's liberal columnist Richard Cohen wrote this week - Reid is pretty much the embodiment of what's wrong with DC. Dirty partisan attacks and subverting the public interest for insiders' benefit.

I don't think I've ever seen or met a Harry Reid defender. Most everyone seems to not like him. Strange how he's one of the most powerful people in Washington with nothing but moxy and thick skin.

Which date of Daily Show has the Jon Stewart takedown?

I like Harry Reid. I've explained way either here or on cougarguard. My opinion hasn't changed.

I am curious as to what you like about him. In my opinion he is whiny, doesn't carry himself very well, calls colleagues names he either later has to or should apologize for. I wouldn't trust him even if he claimed he was telling the truth while sitting in a High Priest group meeting.

I don't want to repeat what I've said b/c of biographical concerns, but I've had enough experience with Harry Reid to know and confirm he is a good-hearted, service-oriented, prayerful, and lovingly devoted man. He's a politician too and so engages in an arena that is a hall of mirrors depending on the perspective you're watching the show, but that doesn't change the nature of the man. And that nature is good.

A lot of people are shocked when a pedophile is outed. Of course I am in no way accusing him of being one. If I did though, I guess he would have to prove he wasn't.

I have it on good authority that Harry Reid hasn't paid tithing in the past 10 years.

I like Harry as well because he continually makes the Dems feel proud that he is one of their own, seems to alway make Nancy Pelosi feel very comfortable as they work together, says that "taxation is voluntary" (God bless Harry), doesn't like those smelly tourists, and gives Jon Steward some great material. I hope the citizens of the great state of Nevada keep him employed as long as possible. It would be very hard to replace this man.

A member of his bishopric told me the same thing.

I heard it is because he pays on net and because he takes so many deductions he reports no income and pays no tithing. That is why he won't release his tax returns.

Wow. Why didn't I think of that? Add this to the reasons I like Harry.

Harry and Mitt are working together on this. This whole spat completely discounts any argument that the LDS Church controls Romney. Since both are Mormon, it seems strange that the church would tell one to ruthlessly lie about the other.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

I'm not going to attempt to defend what he is doing on the tax claims (which seem patently false), but I certainly will take issue with your hysterical claim about him. There is simply no way he is the "least principled" politician out there. He attacked your guy in a cheap way. I can think of a lot of worse things politicians are doing every day.
