  • Be prepared!

I think this guy has some very good points. There are natural disasters all the time and anyone with any knowledge of economics realizes the US economy is on a free fall to disaster. So maybe a re-dedication to food storage should be a huge priority!

the only problem is that Skousen isn't advocating food storage, he's advocating strategic relocation, which is a lot wackier than being prepared for an emergency.

Like the Mormons fleeing to Utah in the 19th Century or Jews fleeing Germany in the early 1930s?

Yes. Didn't you know we have a homicidal maniac running a secret world organization in cahoots with "the greys" and it's time to run to the hills?

talking about how the conspiracies reach all levels and electing a main-stream candidate won't solve it.
Conservatives are going to wake up when Romney betrays us . . . . It's going to be very sad . . ."
there go his dreams of the white horse prophecy.

Did he ever say such nonsense in his interview? No. Are there secret combinations today? Anyone who examines the illegal war against Kadaffi and his eventual rape/murder can see that there are far more interests involved in dictating our foreign policy than what is reported on the infotainment networks.

Speaking of "conspiracies" back in college when some of my more left-wing professors would mention the American government's role in starting the LSD craze of the 60s I thought they were loons until I examined the issue in more detail and found out that was just the tip of the iceberg.

Even if there is a conspiracy, even if the world is spinning toward disaster, so what? You still have to make choices every day about how you're going to treat people and how you're going to view the world each day. Personally I'd rather be gunned down by looters after an apocalypse 10 years from now having lived my life with a smile on my face every day and a skip in my step than to live another 40 years in virtual misery. Even if there is an impending doom, I'd rather live fewer years as an optimist than more years as someone always looking over my shoulder for the next threat. I'd rather spend my days and money sitting around tables enjoying life with my friends, tending to my beautiful flowers, and always seeking after the silver lining than spend it in preparation for some future calamity I have no way of stopping.

Just my opinion. We're all different and we're all free, so I support your ability to view things the way you do. I just don't understand why you'd want to.

I don't discount the reality that a few are able to wield disproportionate power.

But Americans don't care, right? They are too stupid to care. To this day, the Patriot Act is in full force despite everyone knowing there's inherently something very unamerican about it.

Instead of fighting the shadows, why not take on things such as the Patriot Act?

Agreed, but one must also be prepared for the worse, as well as be educated. Here are two excellent documentaries to share with your friends. Information is power after all:

                        1) Century of the Self -- BBC documentary on how Freudian psychology has been used to manipulate the American public and change them from citizens to mere consumers: [ame="http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=9167657690296627941"]Century of The Self. Episode One: Happiness Machines[/ame]

                        2) The Power of Nightmares -- another BBC documentary on the lies surrounding the "threat" of terrorism and how politicians have milked the issue to maintain power over the masses: [nomedia="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5HvzR8w1z2g"]The Power of Nightmares Part 3 - The Shadows in the Cave - YouTube[/nomedia]

I am curious about the LSD craze. Do you mean something other than turning on Ken Kesey which leads to his merry band of pranksters? Thats not too secret as it was in Tom Wolfe's book.
                          PLesa excuse the tpyos.

Bernays doesn't bother me one bit.

Dick Cheney and his cronies, however, primarily Karl Rove, are to be feared.

Kadaffi really? give me a damn break. Was Reagan's invasion of Grenada illegal? How about his bombing of Libya? Or the meffing Iraq War.
We helped forces fighting for freedom, if you oppose tactical support to the Libyan rebels fighting for their freedom you are on the wrong side of history.
The LSD thing isn't much of a disputed secret.
Seriously turn down the Glenn Beck and quit reading the New American. Obama isn't a communist, he is a poor excuse for a social democrat.
And the Islamists don't like Russia much more than us.
Oh and if you like and support the politics of Joel Skousen and Glenn Beck it is impossible to likewise claim you support MLK. He was much more socialist than Obama.
