I'm glad she's tackling the important issues -- like the government forcing someone (or something else) to pay for a 30 year old's $10 birth control and some random state legislator saying something stupid. Like the many simplistic articles decrying growing income disparity in the population in general, Ms. Fluke's analysis of income disparity between the genders leaves A LOT out. It was nice of her to admit near the end of the article that when pesky things like hours worked and occupation are accounted for, the supposed gap shrinks from near 30% to about 5%. My guess is if they controlled for similar years of work experience, it would shrink to near zero.
I would also point out to Ms. Fluke that her proposals all sound very compassionate, but the chronicly high unemployment in most European countries she wants to emulate is one result of such policies.Comment
