Paradise Lost does not get nearly the attention it deserves. My favorite character is Satan. I know that when Waters called me Satan he was alluding to Milton's Satan, who steals the show.

How do you know he wasn't alluding to Bulgakov's Satan, from The Master and Margarita? That devil is also famously entertaining.
Plus, I recall Waters is a big fan of samizdat.
