The LDS Church is clearly not pro-life. They are pro-abortion.

They want abortion to be legal and accessible. That's pro-abortion. They certainly aren't pro-life. They think it's OK to kill the baby if Mom's life is in danger or if there was rape or incest. That's definitely a pro-abortion stance. Most Christians are opposed to abortion even in those circumstances.Originally posted by Jacob View PostCompletely agree. They are as pro-abortion as they are pro-gay marriage.
I work with a lady whose daugher had a baby that was the product of rape. That's the way evangelicals tend to operate. That is a genuine pro-life position.Last edited by SoonerCoug; 04-03-2012, 03:30 PM.That which may be asserted without evidence may be dismissed without evidence. -C. Hitchens

Yep. LDS, almost every living American, and Jimmy carter are all pro-abortion. You're right.Originally posted by SoonerCoug View PostThey want abortion to be legal and accessible. Are you opposed to abortion in all circumstances? Do you think abortion should be legal?Originally posted by Jacob View PostYep. If the frequency is higher in rural Utah, I would guess it is because it is far more socially damning to have a child out of wedlock here than most other states. (Nothing said about the damning that may ACTUALLY be occurring...)Originally posted by ERCougar View PostWell, my experience is anecdotal, so I'll believe your study, but I am continually surprised at upper and middle class women I've seen who have had abortions. I didn't mean to imply that it runs equally across all demographics.
Also, I'd guess that the prevalence of women who have had abortions (and no, I don't have numbers on this) is higher than most on here would guess. I still see a surprising number who have had them in rural Utah, and the frequency was much higher in Michigan.

I'm middle of the road pro-life, like jimmy carter, mormons and most republicans. I don't get too worked up about the politics of it. It's a low level issue for me. Even if you (or some radical catholic) think that makes me pro-abortion, it doesn't.Originally posted by SoonerCoug View PostAre you opposed to abortion in all circumstances? If you are OK with abortion in cases of rape, incest, and danger to the mother's life, then you are pro-abortion. You aren't pro-life. Pro-life means that you want abortion to be illegal.Originally posted by Jacob View PostI'm middle of the road pro-life, like jimmy carter, mormons and most republicans.
