In the US, the person would simply have tap danced around the issue, issued an apology, but never resign. Our public officials have very little integrity.

Speaking of which did you see the exchange between Barney Frank and some student at a forum at Harvard. The student asked a very simple question. "Do you bear any responsibility for the financial mess we are in." Barney, as usual attacked the kid. The kid tried again and Barney attacked further. I would think Barney might be sensitive about attacking people on a personal basis, but apparently he is not.

Another great example. Of course Barney is not culpable! He had nothing to do with either Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac and he hasn't been the chairman of the house finance committee for the past 2 years while this crap was coming down.

The guy is a friggin idiot. BTW........does he have any teeth?

Also reminds me of Sandy Burglar from the Clinton administration getting caught with documents he stole from the Libary of Congress. As I recall, he stuffed them in his socks and down his pants. Apparently, inadvertantly!
