Rush has been saying (idiotically, I might add) that the Democrats are trying to bait the Republicans to nominate Romney because they think he'd be so weak. Now all of a sudden when the media is saying that Bain may be a millstone around Romney's neck, reactionary Rush begins to think that Romney may not be so squishy afterall.

So, now Romney is left to argue in favor of free markets, venture capitalism, etc. against the likes of Newt Gingrich and he's establishing cred with conservatives in the process. This whole thing with Newt is quite ridiculous. Newt bitches about Romney and Paul lying about his record but fails to defend it. Newt goes negative on Romney by resorting to OWS talking points and provides an opening to Romney to defend himself using arguments that are eminently appealing to both full spectrum conservatives and fiscal conservatives that happen to be socially moderate.
    Krauthammer on Newt:

"Newt isn't after victory. He is after vengeance," Charles Krauthammer said on FOX News' "O'Reilly Factory" tonight. "This is Ahab on the loose hunting his Great White Mitt. He thinks and perhaps with some justice that month ago it looked as if he was about to engineer the greatest comeback in American history, rise to the presidency and be a world historic figure, as he sees himself as, and he blames it all on the negative ads of Romney and actually Ron Paul. In Iowa for the dream to disappear. He is going after his revenge."

Newt has accomplished something that was beginning to seem impossible: Energizing conservatives around Romney.

He might actually have done an unimaginably huge favor for Romney.
This has been fascinating to watch. For (supposedly) being such a smart guy, I can't believe Newt stepped into it like that.

Sports radio is starting to bore me so I did something rare and tuned in to Rush and Hannity. I was stunned when Rush spent nearly his whole program ripping into Newt. Hannity also spent some time wondering what Newt is thinking.

when I unpack all those things that bain actually DID, other than creating jobs (finding previously unrealized revenue streams, providing seed/bridge capital, dismantling a company whose component parts are worth more than the whole and rebuilding or selling off in more efficient parts)

what you see is ... creating jobs.

How can you do any of it well without creating jobs?

They went in on companies that were already struggling, many of them edging close to collapse. Only 22% ultimately did collapse, with Romney and co sticking with many of them for 7-8 years.

The exercise is to take a business that wasn't efficient or sustainable and make it efficient, sustainable and profitable.

                    What's that translate to? Jobs.

We can only hope that some of the noble and great ones step in before this escalates and feelings are bruised beyond repair. I fear it may be too late.

Fine. Have it your way. I'm just telling you that the public pantsing Triple Dad just pulled on you deserves a bit more of a response. Shiv him. It's the only way you'll get any respect around here.

Come on - the guy in the $5,000 suit who isn't in Dayton is gonna take pointers on "respect" from the guy in Dockers and also in Dayton.

I'm not sure which of those two guys you are supposed to be, but at the moment, you have neither Dockers nor $5000 suit pants, because DDD has your pants. He pantsed you in public, and YOhio is merely looking out for your best interests. You should listen, and at the very least challenge DDD to a fight less he make a public apology.
