          Care to explain?

P.S. Your Heraclitus quote is apocryphal.

I took your word for the Heraclitus quote and changed it.

This subject is very close to home for me. I have written several responses to this thread, but ended up deleting all of them but the one above, before I even posted them.

This officer's death and his 5 partner's serious injuries have lessons for us.

I'm just not sure that my input on this thread should involve my opinions about the war on drugs.

I do think that you stated your opinion as fact.

I do think police involved shootings are much more complicated than most people realize. Hollywood has influenced public perceptions.

Here is one good example. It is long and involved, especially for those not directly interested, but it's accurate.

Well, the quote doesn't have to be from Heraclitus to be good. I like it.

I stated my opinion as fact, because it is a fact that a punitive approach, while remaining Constitutional, to the drug problem does not work. We either have to raise the punishment to levels so severe that no one dares break the drug laws, or we have to adopt an approach that isn't punitive. Countless research turns up the same results year over year: restricting access to drugs does not achieve the desired ends. I'll start a War on Drugs thread so we can talk about this some more, if you'd like.
