The funniest thing about this is that Corzine was buying up bonds out of Greece, Portugal and Italy thinking those countries would be bailed out like everyone else.

My guess is most of the 99 will never put the two together. In order for them to see it, there needs to be extensive reporting on it. You might get that on Fox and conservative radio talk shows, but most of the 99 don't watch Fox or listen to the talk shows.

ABC, CBS, CNN, et.al. will do blips on it, but not much more.

Jon Corzine, the former CEO of MF Global, gave "direct instructions" to transfer hundreds of millions of dollars from a customer account Bloomberg reports, citing a memo drafted by congressional investigators.

MF Global filed for bankruptcy in October after making risky bets on European debt. The company also lost more than $1 billion in customer funds. In December, Corzine, the former CEO of Goldman Sachs, Governor of New Jersey and Democratic Senator, told a congressional panel of the missing funds: "I simply do not know where the money is."

So, isn't this a big deal? Isn't this like Madoff? Or is this just republican hope that Obama is closely associated with a Madoff figure?

I guess we could blame this whole thing on Chris Christie. If he hadn't defeated Corzine, he'd only be bankrupting the state of New Jersey rather than stealing a billion dollars from MF customers.
