    This is freaking me out:

As a linguist, I can't get past the fact that the [f] and the [b] phonemes are different, but when I watch this video, I hear the same thing if I close my eyes.

    My world has been rocked.

That is freaky, especially when they split the screen and tell you to pay attention to each one separately. I'm trying to think of a similar real life situation though, that doesn't require dubbing over video.

Someone actually gets paid to study this stuff? I cannot imagine a situation where this impacts my life in any way shape or form. What a complete waste of time and resources.

Fascinating. For lawyers, who deal with so-called "percipient" witnesses all the time, this is a good reminder that what people think they saw, heard, felt, smelled or tasted may not be accurate at all.

I believe the young punks say, "BOOM, BITCHES!" in this situation.

This is akin to citing Dailykos or worldnetdaily as a reliable source in a political debate.
