Far left groups are all about those things. That's a really dumb thing for you to emphasize. I'm surprised you're puzzled that anti-fascists are all about that stuff. Those are the kinds of things they've absolutely involved with. You could stand to be less condescending, especially when it is about a subject matter you don't know much about.
I don't think you're educated on this issue much, so your condescending tone isn't justified. Like I said folks like yourself never have heard of antifa before Charlottesville, and are ignorant about it. They just try and use it as an equally bad left-wing version of right wing hate groups. In reality, it is not even close to as dangerous. It's not even an organization in the strict sense.

A few sweeping generalizations that are pertinent to this situation:

The Internet has not been good for democracy.

Social media has been a disaster for democracy.

Social media is wielding a ton of power with little/no accountability. It's become a parallel "accountability system" of its own, beyond the Puritan's wildest dreams.

Our media (social and otherwise) suck--not in the way Trump thinks it does--but the media is currently damaging democracy.

Hate of "the other" is not something we can fix; it's probably innate. Our best shot at limiting it is to have accountable institutions and a population that is invested in their veracity. In short, we need to realize the limits of human nature and advancement and account for them in a way that promotes everyone's welfare.

Our elected representatives who could do something about the above are bought and paid for and/or are captives to ideological extremists.

I was watching it live. Really seemed like the police let them have the car. I'm not sure how they could have stopped them, but they didn't even try. I'm not a fan of violent protests, but in this case, the jackass deserved it.
