I disagree with Obama about this, but am happy as hell that he has made his thoughts known. He's going to alienate the Jewish supporters he had in the '08 election.
I'm curious to know if what the reporter is saying in the first two paragraphs is true, or if it's just his opinion.
Has the US unofficially backed a two-state solution based on the borders pre-1967? I don't believe that is true, as I've done several searches in google and other engines trying to find anything like that. I could be wrong, but if so, I'd like to see some proof of it.

President Barack Obama on Thursday made official the long-held but rarely stated U.S. support for a future Palestinian state based on borders that existed before the 1967 Middle East war.
In the past, the United States has unofficially backed a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestinian conflict based on the borders in place prior to the war 44 years ago in which Israel seized the West Bank, Gaza Strip, Golan Heights and Sinai Peninsula.
