Obama goes back to being a pussy because he doesn't want people in the middle east to get upset about the photos and doesn't want to hear idiots claim that the photos are doctored.

I don't mind the reluctance to release the photos. If he was tried in court and sentenced to hang, they wouldn't show it on TV. Let conspiracy theorists theorize. The US can move on to other targets.

In several years, I'm sure the photos will come out with Freedom of Information stuff.

What good does releasing the photos do? If he's really alive and free, that will come out. I don't see any harm there.

On the other hand, releasing the photos might stoke the fire. Others have said that the terrorists can't hate us anymore than they already do. I probably agree with that, but that doesn't they can't work even harder to inflict their hatred. No sense in releasing the photos if that is a possible outcome, IMO.

I had hoped they'd kick it old school and place his head on a pike at the city gate as a warning to others. But I suppose if they won't release a simple photograph they probably won't do that either.

Perhaps they will come out eventually. Will the administration move to block FOIA requests? What happened to transparency?

I am left wondering what the reaction would have been if this happened in 2005. Why was there no reluctance to release the Abu Ghraib photos or the photos of coffins at Andrews AFB?

These pics would seem to be the ultimate "proof", and in some ways could bring some closure to the past 10 years and the expenditure of $1.3T, loss of over 5800 military casualties plus more contractors, plus some untold number of civilian casualties, etc...

I get the feeling this will backfire BIG TIME for Pres Obama.

According to Leon Panetta, they were NOT watching this happen via video "in real time". They were completely in the dark for 20-25 minutes while Mr. GRU was in the house.

This photo apparently was released to serve a purpose.

Now that I look a little closer, I can see a bit of a transition right at the nose and cheek bones. Somewhere I saw a pic of the original (from 2 years ago) with a pic of bin Laden, and the mixture of the two.
