  • Young headed to Washington?

    Sounds like it's pretty likely.

I thought this was going to be about a Steve Young Senate run.

Young has now been hired by UW.

Too bad. He did good things for the University.

Doesn't he know that we are in the PAC12 now!? Apparently our Board of Regents has a good tract record as schools keep taking our presidents. Hopefully they can find another good one if he goes.

Excellent. Another BYU guy makes it to the big time.
          Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

This says a lot good bout the U of U. How many times have we lost presidents to powerful places like UW?

Yes, and like Chase Peterson and Bernie Machen before him, he was fine tuned at Utah.

                    B Machen-left to U Florida
                    A Smith-left to U Houston

I was thinking Peterson went to Harvard after Utah, but he was there prior to Utah.
I forgot about Smith, too. Pretty good line of succession at any rate.

How long before Kyle takes a job at a more prestigious university?
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Once he left being president, Peterson stuck around at the medical school. I don't think he was looking to move to another institution; his wife was also working at the university and he has children/grandchildren who live in SLC.

Have you noticed how BYU coach or president tends to be a dead end job?
