  • Mitt's The Shi* - 2012

Looks like Americans are caring less and less about Mormonism and more and more about how to fix the economy.

    http://blogs.abcnews.com/thenote/200...-tops-pal.html

Palin and her bubbleheadedness have about zero chance of getting elected to anything in the middle of this severe economic crisis so party leaders should politely ask her to go back to Wasilla and focus on PTA stuff instead of splitting votes and causing distractions over the coming 3 years.

Maybe Mitt can break up the US and sell off individual states at a higher price than that which he paid for them originally.
    Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

Mike Huckabee and Sarah Palin appeal to the idiot wings of the Republican party and I fully expect them to cancel each other out in the primaries. I really think the 2012 race is between Romney and Bobby Jindal. Jindal supposedly bombed the other night in his response to the State of the Union address.

Romney is doing what Reagan did both leading up to his California governorship and between 1974 and 1980, he's giving lots of stump speeches and establishing a lot of support within the activist wings of the GOP.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

I agree! With an exclamation point!

I had heard all this great stuff about this guy, but his response the other night left me very underwhelmed. I'm glad someone else had this reaction.
At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

Well, TD, this is hardly "Americans." This is a straw poll taken within a PAC. And as far as it being indicative of any change in outlook, Romney has won this straw poll three years in a row.

I was looking at these numbers over the weekend, though, and quite pleased to see how poorly Palin fared. That may be some indication that the "conservatives" are finally moving away from Dobsonesque politics.

I like Jindal...a lot...but his reaction was very underwhelming.

The shiny is certainly starting to come off a bit.

This wasn't my reaction, I only watched the beginning from news clips of it. The beginning was absolutely hilarious and you could tell the guy was out of his element with the teleprompter. They made a mistake by having the guy awkwardly walk through the doorway and over the camera.

The reaction I cited came from almost every comment I've read about it. Totally underwhelming and awkward.

If Obama continues to be a hard left guy there's going to be a huge opening for a competant Republican in 2012. I think the GOP primary race was going to come down to Jindal or Romney. Now Romney is beginning to look like the clear frontrunner. If the party goes the Sarah Palin route then count on four more years of Obama. What the hell has Palin done besides deliver a good speech at the convention? She's the GOP's version of Barack Obama, only a lot dumber.

Aside from the catty sarcasm and the cute little winks, was it even very good?

Absolutely it was a good delivery. It provided the impression that Obama was a narcissisitic and opportunistic empty suit. McCain emerged from the convention with a lead that disappeared during the financial meltdown that occurred in September and October. I thought that was impossible given the number of events that combined to make it a difficult year for the GOP. It's incredible that an unattractive candidate like McCain ever had a lead at any point in the race.

I'll grant you that. It was an impressive, effective performance.

DDD, I think Mitt now has a new campaign slogan. Where can I buy the sticker?

That would be sweet. TD should start selling them on cafepress.
