Anybody have kids at Alta High?

What's the story on the KKK hood / racism / principal resigned thing? Just heard a bit about it on the radio yesterday.

I read an article about it today and it doesn't seem to make much sense given what is being said. I think there must be more to that story.

That's what it sounded like on the radio. They said the kid with the hood thing was overblown but there were other "serious incidents" that led to the administrators being put on pad administrative leave. Then the one guy "retired" and the other's fate is TBD.

Which is why I wondered if anybody local had more info.

One team (the seniors I believe) have colors of black and they were chanting black power. The juniors colors were white and they were chanting "white power". This kid put a white pillow case on his head and ran down during the chants.

It was tasteless and classless. The administration should have stopped them but in my opinion blown way out of proportion.

So, it was like a battle of the classes gone awry? A lot of people with little to no racial sensitivity or context got together and it didn't occur to them that they were creating an odd environment.

I think the actual incident occurred around 2 weeks ago. The media just got a hold of this a couple of days ago and since then heads have been rolling.

Must be a slow news cycle.

it's too bad that one little shit who just read animal farm for the first time might cost some breadwinners their jobs.
