Black. Race is a social construct with no biological basis, and since American society still considers race to be a black and white issue (yeah, I know), one with any degree of black parentage is considered black. It isn't preferable, and other countries handle it much more intelligently, but that's what we've got. Your insistence on pointing out his mixed parentage is neither insightful nor appropriate, but I'm sure you would have fit in just fine a hundred years ago when the US census had categories like quadroon and octoroon.
