The implication is that examining a candidate's view is to determine if they are bona fide conservative. I wonder how conservative Utah replublicans really are. I haven't lived in Utah for decades but much of my extended family is there. And they are not strictly conservative. But perhaps they are exceptions.
What if Utahans look deeper into a candidate's views to determine if they are more mainstream, practical, and, dare I type, liberal/progressive. Rather than strictly conservative.“Not the victory but the action. Not the goal but the game. In the deed the glory.”

No offense to Robin, our resident Tea Partier, but while I am sympathetic with some of the goals of the Tea Party, it is quotes like this that make me wonder what some of the leaders of the movement are really after:
