More incompetence displayed by the current admiminstration...

What good is a Director of National Intelligence if he isn't aware of what's happening?

In an interview with ABC's Diane Sawyer yesterday, Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, and Chief Counterterrorism Advisor John Brennan spoke about the terror dangers facing the United States and their efforts to safeguard the homeland. Though the officials said they know of no specific, credible threat against the U.S. at this time, there are plenty of warning signs.

Focusing on other matters isn't an excuse.

Just like the previous administration telling us (and the rest of the world) there were WMDs in Iraq. This is yet another indication that the budgets of the national intelligence departments need to be significantly cut. We can get wrong answers and blank stares for a lot less money.

Excellent point about the previous administration. And I agree completely about the budget needing to be cut in this area. It's proven time and again that money spent is money wasted.

You're the first one to notice. It is the lesser known Doncynthianuus who was kicked out of the Roman Army for dismembering opponents and drinking their blood.

Except from what I recall, Bush and his croneys ignored the intelligence reports refuting reports of WMD because they didn't jibe with his plans to invade Iraq. The Downing Street memo seems to show that all justification for the Iraq war was post hoc.

But yeah, I'm sure they could stand a huge budget cut anyway, along with every other aspect of homeland security.

Great poster. I think he is focusing on cheeseburgers in that picture. That's what I look like when I focus on cheeseburgers. I have to cover my mouth to catch the drool and then I'm good to go.

Pet Peave: Political partisans who don't get their way in the election and then express relentless extremist hate and vitriol for the winner regardless of his moderation. Obama has disappointed his radical constituents, he's been pretty mainstream, even sensitive to business concerns, and stood by our allies in the Middle East. It's Republicans' own fault they lost; they should be grateful Obama is pretty moderate, as was Bill Clinton. Hes' also a lot better speaker than Bush, who raised my hackles every time he opened his mouth, and he's probably a lot smarter. BTW, I voted for McCain and Bush before that.

There's a pet peeve thread buried somewhere in the Back Fence forum. You probably should have posted this in there.

I think that they did an episode about that on Three's Company. In the end it was just a big misunderstanding.
