  • Utah HB 270

    http://le.utah.gov/~2011/bills/hbillint/hb0270.htm

What's the point of this kind of bill, that doesn't really change the law or establish a new program? Is it just to send a message to constituents? Politics? A chance to demonize anyone who votes against it?

Leaving aside the bill's content, this just seems like a waste of time to me.

Wow, the Proclamation on the Family is being made law. Only in Utah could something like this happen.
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

If you asked me: hey guess what kind of tool wrote this bill?

I would have said, "uh, some douche in utah named lavar or ladell something like that?"

you should make sure that your representatives know that and that the sponsors of the bill do too. Utah has a limited window for legislation, this, along with the new state gun bill is just a complete waste of taxpayers' money and lawmakers' time.

Knock it off. This board has enough problems without a dose of middle-age lechery.

It seems that a gay rights activist visited BYU campus to discuss LaVar's bill. And somebody slashed his tires:
