  • Elizabeth Edwards has passed away...

She seemed to be a good woman. All the best to her children.

Just this morning they were saying on NPR that the doctors told her their was nothing else they could do for her. It sounded like she may have a couple of weeks and not a couple of hours.

I never give timelines, because it gives a family, sometimes, unreasonable expectations.

They said buzz words, like, "she isn't in pain", which led me to believe that she was hospice and would soon die. It looks as though that was the case.

So, I have a relative who has a bad breast cancer and the family thinks she will be cured with fasting, prayer, and blessings. Do we really think we have a monopoly on God's grace and healing? What about all the non-LDS women that are in similar circumstances and still die? Did God neglect them? I think Mormons can be arrogant in situations like this.

It's too bad John couldn't have kept his secret a year longer so she didn't have to spend her last days alone knowing her husband is a dirt bag.

Is she receiving medical treatment or just fasting and prayer?

Geesh, I hope that when I kick the bucket that no one will say, "Oh, how sad, there goes poor Robin Finderson. How he suffered, so very sad..." If I found out that my wife had been cheating on me after I found out that I had terminal cancer, I would go on such a tear for the remaining bit of life that I had left, that NO ONE would be feeling sorry for me by the time I finally kicked the bucket.

Poor Elizabeth Edwards. She seemed like a decent woman in a hard situation. I can't say I always thought she made the best choices about what to do, but who am I to judge? Hopefully John can make peace with their children.

I didn't expect to LOL in a thread about someone dying.
