This woman owes all victims of actual sexual assault an apology. Give me a break.

Agreed. She is either crazy or she sees dollar signs and a chance at a settlement.

    Counseling services? What a joke.

      Thanks, Dayton!

Yeah, how dare she be upset about being groped by a stranger in public! This is America!

Sure, it's pretty dramatic, but who am I to tell her how to respond to such an invasion of privacy?

woot speaks the truth. The TSA has gone crazy and is doing it's damnedest to ruin air travel in America. I don't think I would have the same reaction as this woman, but I'm not about to tell her how she should respond to having every part of her body touched because she brought baby formula through airport security.

The author of the original blog post may have been exaggerating, but this has gotten out of hand.

TSA agents have gone too far. This and this are examples. The enhanced pat downs are obviously not being handled with any kind of respect or dignity.

After my experience last week I'm pissed off at the whole process. It does nothing to make us safer, and all it really serves to do is embolden hundreds of thousands of lower-educated, barely-employable people to think they can act like dicks to you just because they're on the other side of the machine. I've decided that the next time I go through the machine I'm flipping them off while my hands are over my head.

Obama took Bush's idiotic and unconstitutional policy and made it worse. But he thinks it is necessary to keep America safe:

Yet another reason to vote him the hell out of office.

I'm completely in favor of airport security having the right to do an adequate screening procedure and even to pat down people in "sensitive" areas.

But I think these procedures should be applied based on a risk profile, so they are only patting down people who fit some type of (admittedly imperfect and uncertain) profile of a potential radical Islamic terrorist and not 80-year old Lutheran women from Minnesota.

From what I've read, it hasn't been much of a "pat down" in sensitive areas. Women's breasts are fully cupped and squeezed, and even twisted in some instances. Some males have described a similar full out "cup and grab" to their testicles.

These procedures aren't going to keep determined terrorists from bombing a plane. Get bomb and drug sniffing dogs in every major airport. It surely can't be any more expensive than the naked scanners. If the dog smells something and barks the alarm, perform an "enhanced" pat down on him or her.

I would think you'd be all for a chance to offer these downtrodden and disadvantaged folk a chance at a federal job where they can make a living wage and have access to adequate health care and retirement benefits.

I guess I care about basic courtesy more.

                              Link?

Terrorists could wear a bra and/or underwear that is full of plastic explosives, and last Christmas apparently that is what the "Christmas Day Bomber" was wearing. Security/terrorism experts say that the only way to find this is with scanning technology or with pat downs, and that makes sense to me.

A bunch of ladies are getting on my plane wearing burqas, and I would want them either scanned or patted down for non-metallic explosives and/or weapons. Seems like common sense to me. And in this politically correct era in which we live they have to be patting down the rest of us in order to have the right to pat down terrorism candidates.

Does anybody on here have some type of evidence or expertise in this area that would suggest that you can find people wearing non-metallic explosives in their underwear without scanning or pat downs?
