"Previous efforts to encourage the poor breeders to mate included showing uninitiated males "panda porn," which Chinese scientists have deemed a success and is being used at zoos overseas."

I'm not sure why, but this joke exhausted me -- not physically exhausted for those wanting to make another joke -- but it made me realize how tiring post-modernity can be.

Is post-modernity tiring because during our daily intercourse, a sexual analogy can be erected at any point in the conversation?

Maybe, but it seriously was a weird sensation. I read the joke and instantly just kind of felt deflated and tired, worn out by it all. (Plenty of sex jokes to be made from those two sentences. Have at 'em.)

You should try ribbed jokes. They don't leave you wanting and tired.

Levin, you are truly a man born out of his time. What you really need is a sprawling farm with peasant workers with whom you can work side-by-side, and have all things in common. If Prop 19 passes, there will be a green rush to California, and you can bring your Kitty and start the life you've always dreamed of, up in the hills of Humboldt, far away from the internet and all things ironic.

No, I'm with Hitch: quality irony is one of the few true joys of life. It's the overwhelming tide of cheap crap that's exhausting.

I don't remember Hitch saying that.

Levin, you don't seem like a very happy person. So much negativity.

This is not a good porn thread. Not at all.

I was speaking more of Levin's entire body of work on CUF. Seems to mostly post in confrontational mode. That's fine I guess, but I hope we are only seeing one side of an otherwise happy person.

Well perhaps some of our up and coming posters can provide more stimulating points.

I'd love to help out... although I'm pretty sure I'd get run out of here on a rail.
