  • I think I've finally hit political fatigue

I feel like I have reached my saturation level. Am I the only one? Legitimately I have been allowing the news and social media algorithms to affect my mental health.

It isn't that I don't care about Immigration, Venezuela, Iran, Somalians, Minnesota, Trans, Republicans, Democrats, Trump, Vance, Pelosi, Newsom...I am done with all of it. I have hit my fatigue level. I'm tired of the talking heads, the social media, the partisan bias...I'm done with all of it.

If it hits my feed I am scrolling. I am about done with the politics section here on CS as well. I like all of you too much to think ill of anyone.

So I am choosing to be ignorant and ambivalent. If you look for negativity, you will find it. I am choosing to look for positivity and peace.

I've mostly checked out of politics the last few years. Most of my info comes from the board here and some cougarboard.

I hate the culture wars and the grievance politics. A bunch of whiners who aren't interested in tough solutions that take work and some compromise. All they care about it complaining about the other side.

Give me someone who has some good ideas for the country. I don't see anyone out there like that right now.

I deleted instagram this week (I'll be back to my vomit shortly I'm sure) because of the fatigue. I used to listen to a lot more political/news podcasts, and I've cut way back on those too.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

I think there are plenty of folks who have good ideas-the real issue is that isn't what the electorate wants. There are fundamental laws of supply and demand and politicians are giving the masses what they want. Our problems are far more bottom up than we want to realize or admit.

I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.

I tapped out about a month or two ago. I go to protests and that's it. Off Twitter, off the politics threads here, barely watch the news. Done. Difference in my mental health is astounding.

Because you are ANTIFA and getting paid by SOROS.
            Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

I probably have political fatigue as well, but it’s probably like my religious fatigue. It’s there. I know it’s there. But it’s healthy because I just don’t care unless it’s important. I don’t care if the meals on wheels assignment gets filled. I also don’t care about whatever new initiative the area seventy has for us.
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

I would say one of those things (Meals on Wheels and Area Seventy initiative) is way more important than the other.
