I'm pointing the reason his views have shifted. You can throw that barb at any poster here, including the numerous complaints about the mainstream media.

But yeah, from founding a needed advocacy group to whatever he represents now, is something.

I guess the NYers didn’t get the memo about how they all need to “collectively” get their shovel and help clear the roads..

Communism is hard when you have to govern within a budget.

Quotes about the protest.. See the clear difference. Yeah. I think we all do..

    AOC:
"Hey so marching into a predominantly Jewish neighborhood and leading with a chant saying ‘we support Hamas’ is a disgusting and antisemitic thing to do," Ocasio-Cortez wrote on X. "Pretty basic!"
    Hocul:
"Hamas is a terrorist organization that calls for the genocide of Jews," Hochul wrote. "No matter your political beliefs, this type of rhetoric is disgusting, it’s dangerous, and it has no place in New York."

    Mamdani:
"As I said earlier today, chants in support of a terrorist organization have no place in our city," Mamdani wrote. "We will continue to ensure New Yorkers’ safety entering and exiting houses of worship as well as the constitutional right to protest."

Violence against a particular ethnic group should be handled the way violence against any person or group would be handled under the law. I cannot see any reason that such a definition is necessary as adopted by a government. Advocate for love, peace, acceptance, etc. But by defining antisemitism, you are trying to control speech and behavior, not crime.

No, I don't think I am forgetting those protests.

Also, I disagree that Mamdani is signaling to his base that it’s okay to go back to committing violence against jewish students or jewish people in general. I think you are being hyperbolic for effect.
Remember when you didn’t think he was signaling for this. I said “We shall see and likely to happen in th summer.”

    Yeah.

NY City council already passed it but former Mayor vetoed it.. So it is likely to happen again. Now that they have their communist in office.

I imagine it would be shot down too. It is a disaster and has not worked in other cities..

FYI (Lookout D-hole. Using AI again.. <gasp!!>): Some cities and states do have similar laws already.

    Washington, D.C.
    • TOPA (Tenant Opportunity to Purchase Act) – oldest and strongest
    • Tenants can:
      • Match a sale offer
      • Assign rights to a nonprofit
    • Applies to most rental properties

    San Francisco, CA
    • COPA (2019)
    • Gives qualified nonprofits first right to buy multi-family buildings
    • Goal: prevent displacement, preserve affordable housing

    Chicago, IL
    • COPA ordinance (2021)
    • Nonprofits get first chance to purchase buildings with 6+ units
    • Tenants themselves do not directly buy, but benefit from nonprofit ownership

    New York City
    • Housing Opportunity to Purchase Act (HOPA) (limited)
    • Pilot and targeted programs, not universal yet
    • State has explored broader COPA legislation
