Please clarify your position. On the economic left/right scale, I think Ron Paul is hard core right. Kim Jong Il and Hu Jintoa are hard core left. Where would you put Obama on that scale? I would put him slightly to the right of center.

I guess if we are only talking about american politics, Obama would be hard core left, given how far right the US is on a global scale.

I think causing fear is part of their platform, but probably not for the same reasons that you are scared.

The dilemma he had was that he had to run left of Hillary to get the Dem primary election. Then he had to run as a centrist (and lie to high heaven) to get elected in the general election. As he is finding out, man cannot serve two masters.

Yes, he lied about Iraq, Afghanistan, economy............lied because he knew better. But now he has to lie again saying it was worse than he thought ..... in every aspect of life. It was not worse than he thought. He had brilliant people surrounding him that knew the truth but he couldn't address what he would do because it wouldn't have gotten him elected.

Those that voted for him got what they deserved. Unfortunately, the rest of us have to suffer with his minions.

Obama, like Clinton, is a practical centrist. I think he ideology is pretty far left, but he is intelligent enough to see that that is an untenable place to govern from. He will behave even more like a centrist after his party takes a gut punch this fall.

There's one improvement from the previous administration.

Don't kid yourself. Bush's advisors were not idiots; they were ideologues.

I think a lot of Obama's 'liberalness' has to do with the government responding to crises.

As are Obama's. Obama himself is an ideologue which makes him a horrendous POTUS.

Was Reagan an ideologue? I'm in his camp, so I wouldn't be able to recognize it.

Carter, yes. Nixon, yes. Johnson, yes. GW, yes. Obama, abso-f***ing-lutely.

It's all a matter of perspective. On Cougarguard, I was a raging conservative. On Cougarboard, I'm a centrist.

If left to his own devices in a government bereft of compromises brought about by a system of checks and balances, Obama would undoubtedly be as liberal as they come.

Wth? That is an unfair and loaded generalization.
