  • Arizona Senator Kyl on video about the border..

Interesting video. It will be interesting to see how Obama responds and Kyl responds to this. Will it gain any steam... With the border being such an issue I think it could..

You beat me to this by a few hours. I'm a hack, but it's worth posting twice so folks can start to understand just how f***** up Obama is.

Looks like Obama's response it to sure Arizona over the law and scoff at Sen. Kyl's intimate revelation of Obama's opinion on the border issue....

Securing the border without passing immigration reform is a waste of money, time, and effort.

Attempting to pass immigration reform without first securing the border is a waste of money, time, and effort.

You have that backwards. Until the border is secure, it's a waste of money, time and effort to pass immigration reform. What you're saying would be like not building a dam until all of the water has flowed through the future dam site.

While I personally feel that immigration reform is more important than simply tightening border security, I really do feel that a secure border must come first.

The path to citizenship is much too long, difficult, and expensive. It hurts those who are in the most need of making significant changes to their lives and those of their family. We need to make things easier for these immigrants. At the same time, however, we need to give them some incentive to want to go about things the correct way (ie make it more difficult for them to do it the wrong way).

I would not support a huge increase in border security WITHOUT immigration reform. But if we are going to reform immigration procedures then border security must come first.

Nogales Police Officers are now being threatened by Drug Cartel that snipers will take them out across the border..

We lived in Tucson and my father worked out of Nogales so this is fairly close to home. I used to travel with him to work and we would cross the border all the time to get some authentic Mexican food.. So sad the drug cartel has just ran rampant down there...

I'm actually in favor of a long, difficult, and somewhat expensive path to citizenship. OK, not "expensive" - but not inexpensive either.

Mainly, I don't want folks who don't have a sense of what the US has been and is to come in and make wholesale changes to what I think is a pretty good thing that we have here without first putting in the time to understand it.

That said - I would be very open to simplifying the process of gaining residency. Even permanent residency. I just don't want to undervalue citizenship.
