  • Whats the big deal of when to celebrate the 4th?

Everytime it falls on Sunday we get this debate that it was intended to be celebrated then. Well were does it say that in the constitution? I must of missed something. People have no problem taking Monday off from work what is wrong with celebrating the independence than. They don't lose a day off when the day falls on Sunday.

Besides I think the document was finalized the 2nd anyway and final approval given in August. They are making much ado about nothing. I may be a hypocrite for posting this on Sunday.

But were there is a large population that does not feel it appropriate for barbecues and fireworks on Sunday why not have it on Monday. Since Idaho became a state on July 3rd that would be good incentive to celebrate it then. Statehood day and American Independence day. Statehood day is not a big deal in Idaho.

Every time the day falls on Sunday and people celebrate on other days there is a big stink about it. Though they take off work on Monday. Southern Idaho is celeberating Monday this year too and people are saying how bad we are for doing it, Making a stink over it and slaps veterns in the face. BS. Nothing wrong with moving celebration. Since the 4th was a minor day of when we became independent.

Grape, Monday will be July 5th. I suggest you celebrate all three days in the following manner:

Saturday, July 3: Celebrate Idaho's glorious statehood.

Sunday, July 4th: Reverently honor the men and women who sacrificed all for this country's independence.

Monday, July 5th: Fireworks and BBQ, to celebrate the rise of our Chinese overlords, and heart disease.

Grape, I think they should move church on that day. That is my solution
