Everytime it falls on Sunday we get this debate that it was intended to be celebrated then. Well were does it say that in the constitution? I must of missed something. People have no problem taking Monday off from work what is wrong with celebrating the independence than. They don't lose a day off when the day falls on Sunday.
Besides I think the document was finalized the 2nd anyway and final approval given in August. They are making much ado about nothing. I may be a hypocrite for posting this on Sunday.
But were there is a large population that does not feel it appropriate for barbecues and fireworks on Sunday why not have it on Monday. Since Idaho became a state on July 3rd that would be good incentive to celebrate it then. Statehood day and American Independence day. Statehood day is not a big deal in Idaho.

Southern Idaho is celeberating Monday this year too and people are saying how bad we are for doing it, Making a stink over it and slaps veterns in the face. BS. Nothing wrong with moving celebration. Since the 4th was a minor day of when we became independent.
