Oh, he's a pussy. He doesn't have the guts to stand up to the true enemies of this country and certainly doesn't have the guts to accept responsibility for anything that doesn't put him in a positive political light.Originally posted by YOhio View PostIl Pad can't figure out whether Obama is a pussy or bloodthirsty warmonger."Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." - Winston Churchill

Okay, use snark and I will too. You're either too afraid to answer or you know I'm right.Originally posted by YOhio View PostI'm out. I can't possibly explain why Obama doesn't want to kill US citizens on US soil without the snark. I thought a military electromagnetic pulse was just a nuclear bomb detonated at altitude. Does it make sense that they could detonate a nuc at altitude over the US?Originally posted by Eddie View PostSo...I was talking to someone the other day who works with a guy who keeps talking about how scary the North Koreans are.
He says that, sure, they haven't been able to make a nuke small enough to fit on one of their missiles, but they do have the missiles. They've sent a monkey into orbit and back. And he says that while they haven't made a small enough nuke, they have been successfully testing EMP's and have one of those small enough to sit atop their missile.
So his theory (not the guy I spoke to, but the guy he works with) is that the N Koreans could send an EMP over, detonate it 80 miles up, and effectively destroy about 60-70% of the US power grid. And what would happen in the US for the next 2-3 months it would take to rebuild that? No food...no water...ineffective communication...communities cut off...authority heading home to protect/care for family...chaos...anarchy...
He keeps telling folks they need to get their year supply of food put together. And that it wouldn't be a bad idea to pick up a generator.
I know that Kim is a big talker, but I have a hard time imagining him really wanting things to go to war. And an incredibly difficult time thinking that he would ever actually make an attack like that directly on the USA. But it's an interesting theory.

I had the same question, and I'm not sure of the difference. He did say something along the lines of folks making fun of the NK's because their nuclear tests haven't had the yield that you would expect - like smaller than those used in WWII - but that speculation is that the reason they were smaller is because they were attempting to maximize the EMP effect and not the nuclear destruction effect. And that when looked at in that light, the tests may have been much more successful than initially thought.Originally posted by CardiacCoug View PostI thought a military electromagnetic pulse was just a nuclear bomb detonated at altitude. Again - not sure how much of the speculation I believe. Just thought it was interesting.

Good thing I don't drink coffee as all of the snow has melted locally. What do people in Arizona do for their coffee?
How much water did the NK camera crew being with them to make snow-free NK coffee?
And to cap it off...NK to Americans - "Let them eat cake!".

I forgot to add, in all fairness, when I was in Guatemala, Beverly Hills 90210 was at its peak. Folks down there figured it was a documentary that showed how all Americans live. They couldn't believe my parents didn't by my a BMW or Jeep for my 16th birthday.Originally posted by YOhio View Post

That was hilarious. And the two homeless guys sitting in the snow next to the dead bodies of their friends covered by blue tarps.Originally posted by Coach McGuirk View Post"there are no birds, except for these, which will be eaten Tuesday. They are yummy."

I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.
