I thought they'd ride the buzz all the way to the bank, but when pretty much everyone decided not to show it, I guess that went out the window. I know one of the big concerns was that there would be a spillover impact to other movies at one of the biggest times of year, so maybe when the holidays pass they'll put it back in theaters. But right now they don't even have theaters to place it in if they wanted to.So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

The longer this goes on, the more free pub the film will get. I think a post-holiday release would be great timing for a show that was probably going to flounder at the pre-Christmas box office.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostI thought they'd ride the buzz all the way to the bank, but when pretty much everyone decided not to show it, I guess that went out the window. Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss
There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

Drop it in February or March when cinephiles like Kim Jong-un least see it coming.Originally posted by Donuthole View PostThe longer this goes on, the more free pub the film will get. Sony reaction is "beyond the realm of stupid". I agree.

That's a good interview with cyber security expert Peter Singer on the matter.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostSony reaction is "beyond the realm of stupid". I agree.

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Yep.Originally posted by Moliere View PostThat's a good interview with cyber security expert Peter Singer on the matter.
It is mind-boggling to me, particularly when you compare it to real things that have actually happened. Someone killed 12 people and shot another 70 people at the opening night of Batman: The Dark Knight [Rises]. They kept that movie in the theaters. You issue an anonymous cyber threat that you do not have the capability to carry out? We pulled a movie from 18,000 theaters.
Right—from the beginning, Sony and the media have taken what has been described as a run-of-the-mill albeit expansive and thorough hack and have scared everyone beyond belief. What happened here?
The attackers wonderfully understand the American psyche. This was a hack, but call it 'cyber' and 'terrorism,' and we lose our shit. There's no other way to put it."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

Hollywood needs to censor itself and stick to mocking civilized folks. It's a dangerous world out there.
Huh? Now this Sony hack is a national security issue?

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."
