At what point do we say, enough is enough. Raising taxes on the rich is not the answer, cutting spending is...

And yes, both parties are guilty. Is it too late to save this sinking ship?

Cutting spending or even proposing it is political suicide. Everyone agrees we can't keep spending at this rate but if you going to cut benefits or spending they want their neighbors benefits cut.

Even a conservative candidate will shy away from proposing to cut spending and will most likely propose a spending freeze.
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

.... and we just added another entitlement to the bag of feces. I guess we'll get someone to pick it up on the clean end some day so they won't get their hands dirty.

Back to your question, I think we just saw the breaking point on Sunday.
